We are happy and proud to receive fabulous reviews from our guests weekly on TripAdvisor. Below are a few of the recent ones, but feel free to check out the rest on the TripAdvisor website.
Our stay at the Crooked Oak Mountain Inn was perfect. This B&B deserves to be rated #1 in Asheville. The only reason I can imagine why they are not is because this Inn only has 6 rooms so a limited number of guests can give ratings at any given time as opposed to the larger B&Bs which may have double the occupancy and can get more reviews.
1) The hosts: Bear and Patti, are as gracious, friendly (but not intrusive), helpful, and accommodating as any could be. However, what is distinctly different about them is that they GENUINELY care about their guests. This is more than a job to them; hospitality is their calling and passion, and it shows in everything they do. I believe you can tell the difference when hosts don’t care for their guests but tolerate them and put on a happy face as opposed to those who delight in serving. These people are sincere. They will become your friends if you allow them and want them to; otherwise, they will remain dedicated hosts trying to serve your every need.
This was our second trip to Asheville and second stay with Patti and Bear. We’d talked about seeing more of Asheville, but on Monday morning decided to relax and read on their lovely patio. The birds sang, the breeze ruffled the trees, and the rock fountain trickeled water into the fish pond. As for us, we simply became one with our surroundings…..for two wonderful days! The inn is a warm, openly friendly place with beautiful, spotlessly clean rooms, paths to meander, yummy breakfasts, and, of course, that quiet, peaceful patio. For us, it was heavenly, again! – Geni R, Virginia (via TripAdvisor)
We were extending our stay in Asheville and Patti and Bear welcomed us to their inn. What a wonderful retreat! Patti and Bear pay attention to the details and made our stay wonderful. We enjoyed the wonderful breakfast and the peaceful and beautiful setting. We will definitely come back! – Theresa M., Pickerington, Ohio (via TripAdvisor)
My husband and I stayed with Patti and Bear more than 6 months ago, but I still feel strongly enough about the experience to write a review. The house was amazing. So comfortable and homey, we absolutely didn’t want to leave. And my favorite part was the bed — the most comfortable thing I’ve ever slept in. We said we want to go back just to get that great sleep again! Here were all of the highlights that have to be mentioned: gorgeous property, romantic and delicious breakfast served by Bear, puzzles and games in the family room for cold or rainy stays, friendly customer service helping us navigate around the hot spots in Asheville, large patio with fireplace and lots of seating, and the most cozy feeling rooms with every luxury and overnight necessity thought through. Thank you, Patti and Bear for your hospitality and opening up your home to us. – Christine H., Chicago, Illinois (via TripAdvisor)
Patti and Bear are fabulous hosts. They greeted us at the front door when we arrived and made certain that whatever we needed was provided. The property is beautiful and sets the tone for a wonderful retreat. The fireplace in the breakfast area was always glowing and so inviting that we found ourselves sitting there at every opportunity.
Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated as is the rest of the Inn. Every morning we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. Patti and Bear recommended some fabulous restaurants in which to dine. They were extremely helpful in our quest to find some beautiful hiking trails. We were very pleased to have chosen this wonderful B & B. We plan to return later this year. We highly recommend the Crooked Oak Mountain Inn.” Rich & Linda, Loudon, Tennessee (via TripAdvisor)
“Bear and Patti have a beautiful, cozy B&B in the mountains of Asheville NC, yet only minutes from town. They make you feel warm and cozy and provide top notch service, while providing a delicious gourmet breakfast to include pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit, potatoes, bacon, baked goods, and the list goes on. The accommodations are clean and extremely comfortable. We loved our stay so much, that we can’t wait to go back and we are even considering moving to Asheville.” – RVM, Atlanta, Georgia (via TripAdvisor)
“This is the third time we’ve stayed at the Crooked Oak, and it has been a wonderful experience each and every time we’ve stayed, whether for an anniversary trip (like this past one) or just a night away for my wife, and I. Accommodations at the Crooked Oak are top notch and cozy, and the breakfast each and every time is incredible and delicious, regardless of what’s on the menu!
The location is beautiful, high up in the mountains of Asheville, and the hosts are perhaps the best we’ve ever encountered at a B&B. We’ve stayed at many B&B’s over the years, but Patti and Bear have something special, and it far exceeds the whole B&B experience. They have the warmest and joyful personalities, easy to talk to and always willing to sit and share their hearts and lives with anyone. They epitomize love and family, and it shows in how they run their B&B, how they interact with their guests, and how much they love and adore one another like newlyweds, even after 34+ years. We have been greatly blessed getting to know them better each time we stay and honestly, they would rank #1 on the list of B&B’s we have stayed at across the country. If you’re looking for the best, book a reservation… you won’t be sorry! Make sure to ask for a copy of Patti’s book to read too.” – D&A, Saint Augustine, Florida (via TripAdvisor)
“A fabulous place to stay in the mountains with wonderful ambiance and gourmet breakfasts every morning. The innkeepers are very charming and have great recommendations for things to do as well. A great place to get away from it all!” – Kim Z. Geneva, Illinois (via TripAdvisor)
